The effortless and timeless beauty looks created by Miyako Johnson are motivated by her appreciation for vintage glamour and love of nature.

With over 21 years in the beauty industry, California native Miyako J., had her sights on the big city of New York. Bartender turned groomer in the 90's Miyako started her career working on rap videos. A meeting with a top New York photo editor helped her become a highly requested groomer. After 2 years working on various sets, Miyako took her talent to Paris working on stage plays. When she returned to New York she received the opportunity to work as a freelance artist for M.A.C. cosmetics, becoming a top artist with the brand, she was also chosen to be apart of M.A.C special events team working for Cirque du Soliel, NYFW, Pussy Cat Dolls and H&M.

After 5 years of working on the M.A.C team she decided to go back on the road traveling throughout the Caribbean as the head makeup artist for Pulse's Caribbean fashion week. Miyako took her beauty work to new heights when she became the Beauty Editor of CFA Award winning SHE Caribbean Magazine, She also gained the 2009 Best Make Up Award from Caribbean Fashion Awards. In 2016 Miyako went back to school gaining her cosmetology license adding hairstyling and barbering to her resume.

Today Miyako J is still making her mark on top projects as the go to groomer, current clients include, LIL NAS X, TREVOR JACKSON, WALE, RYAN JAMAAL SWAIN & LIL PUMP.
